I graduated from one of the Dale Carnegie training courses in February 2011. In an effort to continue living the principles I have learned in the course I decided to begin this daily blog. This blog will highlight at least one example of how I used the principles from Dale Carnegie’s books: How to Win Friends and Influence People and How to Stop Worrying and Start Living into practice.
Let me be clear– this isn’t roses and butterflies, koolaid or new religion I have found. The Dale Carnegie principles are common sense principles that people generally don’t put into practice. I know first hand it’s easier not to smile, not to give sincere appreciation and it’s certainly easy to criticize, condemn and complain.
This 365 day journey, if done right– will not be an easy accomplishment. My main goal is to improve myself– to change, to grow, to use better techniques for handling stress, to change my perception of events and circumstances around me. I don’t aim to change anyone else’s behavior, way of thinking, etc. If others can learn from my mistakes and struggles then that’s a bonus!
